Lauren M. Maier

Lauren M. Maier is an associate with Alvarez, Winthrop, Thompson & Smoak, P.A. Her practice is focused on litigation.

Ms. Maier received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida State University. After working for a prominent criminal defense attorney in Atlanta, Ms. Maier received a Dean’s Scholarship to attend the University of Miami School of Law, where she graduated with her Juris Doctorate.

While in law school, Ms. Maier was a member of the Honor Council, an intern with UM’s Professional Responsibility and Ethics Program and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Consumer Protection, Transactional Skills, and Mindful Ethics. Ms. Maier also served as treasurer and founding member of UM’s Disabled Law Student Association, advocating for a more accessible and disability-conscious campus through learning events and discussion panels.

Before joining AWTS, Ms. Maier worked for a large insurance defense firm where she represented clients ranging from individuals, small businesses, to national corporations, in a wide variety of liability related matters. During her tenure as a litigation associate, she gained valuable knowledge and insight which she now uses to aggressively defend her clients at AWTS.

Ms. Maier was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale and has resided in Tampa since graduating from law school. Outside of work, she enjoys reading and writing, spending time outdoors, cooking, and going to live music events.
